How to Recover a WordPress Site Messed after Changing Site URL in General Settings

by | Mar 8, 2013

In a rare case if you made a change on the wordpress general settings area and modified the site url and later found that you have an ugly looking broken site.

You will observe a change in the admin login url which lead you to nothing but a link where you can’t access the wordpress login page using the standard login url.

A simple fix to this issue is through the php my admin. Navigate to WP_OPTIONS table and then edit the siteurl column. You would be able to see the url you entered on the general settings. Just take that off, put the previous url with a ‘/’ at the end and save it.

It should be ok 🙂

Not too detailed solution but good enough if you have a little experience with cpanel, phpmyadmin, and wordpress.
